Here at the Pier Head Hotel we put together surfing packages to suit your needs. We organise surf lessons, equipment, transport and accomodation for very competitive prices and for any time of the year.

Mullaghmore attracts fisherman from all over the world as the bay is home to a variety of fish species including Coalfish, Cod, Dogfish, Flounder, Conger, Mackerel, Monkfish, Mullet, Pollock, Whiting & Wrass to name a few.

 

 

With the Pier right at our front doorstep, we are in the ideal location for your perfect fishing adventure whether you enjoy Deep Sea Angling, Wreck & Reef Fishing or Big Game Angling. We can organise packages for you.

Sailing

The endless Atlantic Ocean with views of the Dartry Mountains makes an ideal environment for sailing and wind surfing.

 

 

A pleasant cruise across the bay can often lead to fantastic bird watching with regular seal & dolphin sightseeings. It's the perfect way to enjoy nature at its wildest. Mullghmore also has its own Sailing Club.

Hill Walking

Steep sided and flat topped Limestone hills make up the striking Dartry Mountains. Visible from our hotel is the prominent spur of the infamous BenBulben Mountain (1730ft) - often celebrated by the legendary Irish poet Y.B Yeats .

 

These mountains hug the coastline and make wonderful viewing all year around. There are many tracks and roads nestled in amongst this mountain range that are just waiting to be discovered.

Coastal Walking

There is a 55min coastal walk that takes you right around Mullaghmore Head. It has 360 degree views of ocean, mountains, wildlife and Lord Moutbatten's Castle.

 

 

It's ideal for a leisurely stroll, marathon run or photo opportunities. The rock formations, cliff ledges and waves crashing over the reefs are truely remarkable.

Mullaghmore Beach

Mullaghmore Beach is very much a flat, safe and family oriented beach.

 

 

Stretching approximately 1.5 miles across the bay with a slight and gradual decline into the water, it makes a perfect beach for walking, bathing and safe swimming. It is just a 2 minute walk from the Pier Head Hotel and is life guarded during the summer months.

 

 

It attracts many families from all over the country. Indeed it was the winner of the 2010 Green Coast Award, which is a symbol of excellence, and recgonises excellent water quality, high environmental standards, good managment and community involvement.
